Writing about astrology during such intense weather, political, and cultural upheaval can feel overwhelming. At times like this, I wonder what Luna thinks as she watches the swirling fires and storms on our Earth from her celestial perch. Perhaps she sees our chaos as a reflection of her own cycles—constant movement, waxing and waning, moments of calm and turbulence alike.

Still, I made a promise to myself: one extended lunar cycle of astrological writing. It began with the New Moon in Aquarius in January 2023. Though it took me until February 1 of that year to summon the nerve to share publicly, but the intention was already sealed. The journey may (or may not) conclude with the Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius on May 20, 2025—a full lunar family in reflection.

What comes after? Who knows. There’s hundreds of thousands of words already penned waiting for their turn, but one cycle at a time, right? As for subscribing, maybe stick to the monthly option if you're hedging your bets.

For today, the Moon waxes through Gemini, building toward the Full Moon in Cancer on Monday. This lunar journey is lively with communication, connection, and duality, themes Gemini embodies so well. Here’s how today’s major aspects shape the story:

  • Moon in Gemini square Venus in Pisces: This is a moment for bridging gaps between thought and feeling. Venus in Pisces pours her soft, dreamlike waters over Gemini's quicksilver logic, challenging us to weave sweetness and empathy into our words. It’s a reminder to communicate with care, especially in moments of disagreement.

  • Moon conjunct Jupiter retrograde in Gemini: Ideas swell to overflowing, words stretch and expand, and everything feels like it carries extra meaning. Jupiter retrograde asks us to revisit lessons from the past. Where have we been too quick to speak, too slow to listen? What truths can we uncover by looking back before we move forward?

  • Moon square Saturn in Pisces: The eternal dance of structure and surrender. Saturn in Pisces asks us to face the limits of our dreams while the Moon in Gemini prefers to skip over seriousness. Yet, this aspect challenges us to anchor our thoughts, ensuring our ideas are not only inspired but also sustainable.

Despite the challenges, today offers opportunities to embrace duality—the hallmark of Gemini. Let yourself explore contradictions: serious vs. lighthearted, emotional vs. rational, past vs. future. In doing so, we might find unexpected clarity.

As Luna grows toward fullness, take a moment to honor the connections you've made—through words, shared ideas, and meaningful conversations. Whether you're navigating chaos or simply observing it, communication is an act of creation. Our words and thoughts ripple outward, shaping the world around us.

And, writing this post today? That’s part of the ripple, too.

🔮 Tarot - The Lovers

The Lovers card aligns beautifully with today’s Waxing Moon in Gemini, especially when upright. Gemini, the sign of the twins, mirrors the themes of duality, connection, and choice that The Lovers encapsulate. Together, they invite us to reflect on relationships—whether with others, ourselves, or the decisions that shape our lives.

Upright: Love, Unions, Choices, Balance, Unity
Under the Waxing Moon in Gemini, The Lovers upright encourages open communication and deep connections. This is a day to prioritize honest dialogue, whether in romantic partnerships, friendships, or collaborations. Gemini’s influence sharpens our ability to see both sides of a situation, helping us make choices that align with our values. The Moon’s waxing energy amplifies potential, suggesting that today’s connections or decisions could grow into something meaningful and lasting.

Reversed: Disharmony, Imbalance, Conflict, Indecision
If you’re feeling pulled in too many directions or unsure of your choices, The Lovers reversed can signal a need to pause and recalibrate. This dual nature may amplify indecision or mental overwhelm, but it also offers a chance to untangle conflicting priorities. The Moon's waxing energy reminds us that even conflict or disharmony can lead to clarity if we face it with an open mind and a willingness to adapt.

The Waxing Moon in Gemini invites us to explore the choices and connections highlighted by The Lovers. Are you in balance with your inner values and outer actions? How can you find unity in your relationships, even when faced with duality or disagreement?

Today, let the combined energies of The Lovers and the waxing Moon in Gemini guide you toward greater harmony in your thoughts, actions, and relationships. Each decision, no matter how small, is an act of self-expression—so choose with care and love.

🧘 Embodied Astrology

Friday, ruled by Venus, invites us to connect with pleasure, beauty, and harmony.

With the Moon in Gemini, focus on movement and playfulness—try a short walk, gentle stretching, or dancing to your favorite music.

Let your body mirror Gemini's light, curious energy by exploring how small shifts in movement can create joy.

Today is an invitation to wear something that makes you feel beautiful (Venus) or write a love note (to yourself or someone else). Breathe deeply and embody gratitude for the connections that bring sweetness to your life.

🗝️ Sabian Symbols

January 10 - Sun at Capricorn 20°

Capricorn 20° is rounded up to Capricorn 21° since the zodiac degrees are counted from 0 to 29, where 0° represents the very beginning of a sign.

The Sabian Symbol for Capricorn 21 is:

A RELAY RACE

This Symbol shows working together in a cooperative venture, to know when to go and when to stop, when to take the baton and when to pass it on, and how to pace yourself so you can stay in the “Relay Race”. Each person has to contribute as best they can; some run fast, some have their own talents, some trip you up and cause you to falter. Working together, you can figure out who will help win the race and who wont. Sometimes, victory seems achievable, but you are likely to be a member of a team, with your own special task to perform. You may not be the one who crosses the finish line, but you may, eventually, share in the group effort. Just watch for when it’s your turn and when it isn’t.
Shared endeavor. Knowing when to pass on responsibilities. Having to wait your turn. Inheritances. The power of surrender. Taking turns. Split second timing. Coordination.

Not letting go of control to another. Feeling defeated. Not having the necessary resources to win. Butting in when others are talking. Not sharing the glory.

❓My Why

When I check the daily positions of the planets, it serves as a grounding and expansive experience for me. Observing where the planets are in relation to Earth reminds me of my presence in the vastness of the universe.

This cosmic perspective helps me "zoom out" and view my life and its gifts and challenges as just a small part of a much larger, intricate cosmic dance. At the same time, it grounds me, connecting me to the rhythms and cycles of the natural world, which have been observed by humans for millennia.

This daily practice offers me a unique blend of humility and wonder, as I recognize both my smallness in the universe and my connection to something much larger than myself.

Thank you for being here.
